Former Hamilton and St Johnstone defender Simon Mensing has returned to America after joining North American Soccer League (NASL) outfit Carolina RailHawks.
The 33-year-old is currently training with League One leaders Dunfermline after his club in the States, Atlanta Silverbacks, folded due to financial pressures.
However, he has chosen to continue his career in the U.S. after accepting an offer from the RailHawks, who count former Rangers favourite Nacho Novo among their former players.
The former Clyde, Raith Rovers and Livingston stopped told the RailHawks’ official website: “I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the NASL last season. When I played the RailHawks, I was really impressed by the fans, the atmosphere, and their facilities.
“Signing for the RailHawks was an easy decision to make and having seen the roster so far I can honestly say that I’m really excited for a successful season.”
