New Livingston manager David Hopkin has made his first signing after recruiting experienced midfielder Mark Fotheringham.
The 32-year-old, who left Fulham last January and was recently on trial at St Mirren, has rejoined the Lions having made 11 appearances for the club during the 2011/12 campaign.
As Fotheringham arrives, Portuguese midfielder Hugo Faria has departed the West Lothian side after his five month spell expired.
Hopkin said: “The club has been chasing Mark since the summer, and we’re delighted he’s come in to help push us up the Championship table.
“Fozzy brings a wealth of experience and is just as pleased to return to Livingston as we are.
“We’ve only got a small squad of players, it’s only about 14, 15 – so I need to get in players that are ready to hit the ground running.”
Hopkin is still hopeful of re-signing Dundee United goalkeeper Marc McCallum on loan after his short-term deal expired at the end of last month.
Hopkin added: “The club are still trying to get that done, Marc has been a big miss.”
