Liam Buchanan is desperate for Livingston to prove that last week’s shock defeat against Alloa was just a blip after insisting the wounded Lions have been “hurting”.
Mark Burchill’s men succumbed to a 1-0 reverse against the Wasps thanks to a solitary Robbie Crawford strike, blighting a fine run of three wins and a draw – against Rangers – in their previous six matches.
With Dumbarton visiting the Tony Macaroni Arena today, Buchanan is determined to ensure lightening does not strike twice.
The experienced front-man said: “We have got to prove that we are hurting from that result and come out against Dumbarton determined to prove that the Alloa game was just a wee set-back.
“We want to show that it was just a blip and that we are still going in the right direction.
“The boys have done fantastically in the last few weeks and I think we know that we underperformed last week; we weren’t quite up to it. However, that’s football and it’s about how you respond.
“Dumbarton is a great opportunity to get back on track, but we know how tough it will be. You can’t discount any side in this division.”
