Lee Miller insists Falkirk are capable of going toe to toe with Rangers and Hibernian in the Championship title race.
The former Hearts, Aberdeen and Dundee United striker thought he had scooped all three points for the Bairns in Saturday’s tetchy trip to Easter Road when he netted his fifth goal in three games with just six minutes remaining.
However, Hibs, who had been reduced to 10 with the dismissal of John McGinn just before half-time, rescued a 1-1 draw with Martin Boyle’s equaliser in the second minute of injury-time.
Nonetheless, with Falkirk just six points behind Hibs and nine behind Rangers, who they host on Saturday, Miller claims Falkirk are able to give as good as they get at the summit of the second-tier.
“These games always are (a bit feisty),” he said. “We’re up there with Hibs and Rangers and we’re fighting for things.
“We’re rubbing shoulders with them and we’re competing with them and we’re matching them in every department.
Tight
“We would have taken a point before the game but the way the game panned out we’re disappointed not to take the three, with them having a man sent-off and us having the bulk of possession.
“But, at the end of the day, we’re still in amongst it. Rangers drew as well, so it keeps us in about it and it keeps Hibs in about it as well.”
He added on Falkirk TV: “It’s tight and it’s a good league for the neutrals as well.”
Meanwhile, Falkirk have handed over a four-figure sum to Legion Scotland after selling their special Remembrance match-day shirts worn in the 5-0 win over Alloa Athletic on November 14.
The £1,375 cheque presented by vice-captain Will Vaulks to Legion Scotland trustee Brian Kelly represents 100 per cent of the proceeds from the sale.
Kieran Koszary, Falkirk’s commercial manager: “This gesture once again highlights the fantastic work we are doing to support our charity partners and the community as a whole.
“We would like to thank all fans who have purchased these tops and, contrary to some reports, we are donating all proceeds from the sale of these tops.”
