Hearts have appointed Martin Jesper as their new Head of Strategic Developments as the club moves towards fan ownership.
Jesper helped take Darlington into supporter ownership and had held the position of chief executive with the Quakers for three years until he announced his decision to step down in October.
Joining the Management Executive Team at Tynecastle, Jesper is set to work closely with the Foundation of Hearts ahead of the fans group’s scheduled takeover of the club in May 2019.
A Hearts statement read: “Coming on board as the club’s Head of Strategic Developments, Martin will assist in the running of the club and planning its future strategy for growth.
“He helped deliver fan ownership to Darlington, who are now 100 per cent fan owned.
“Well placed to help Hearts plan for its own transition to fan ownership, Martin will drive the club’s relation with theFoundation of Hearts and other supporter groups, as well as representing the club on the SPFL Working Group on Supporter Involvement in Scottish Football.”
