Livingston star Jordan White reckons his fierce battle with strike duo Jordyn Sheerin and Liam Buchanan is driving him on to greater heights.
The towering front-man has endured a stop-start campaign thanks to the form of his attacking rivals, starting just three of the club’s 12 Championship fixtures this season.
However, he has bagged three goals in this last two matches and tormented the Raith Rovers back-line in Livi’s 3-0 triumph on Saturday, netting a brace.
His clinical display, allied with a fine headed goal by Declan Gallagher, secured the Lions first home win of the season and saw them roar out of the relegation places.
White said: “I’ve been patient and, in that situation, it’s just about working hard and doing what you can for the team. But when you get that chance to get back into the team, you need to take it.
“The competition is vital, it keeps you on your toes and means you don’t get complacent.
“Liam and Jordyn coming in have made e a better player, without a doubt. The strength in depth is driving everyone on to improve.
“I think we’ve been playing well for weeks but the results just haven’t gone for us. The last two weeks the results have come and we’ve been brilliant.
“It’s good to be scoring goals, but the main thing is we are out of the bottom two and getting what we have deserved.”
