Raith Rovers today expect to get the all-clear for midfielder Ross Callachan to resume playing after his lengthy shoulder injury.
The 22-year-old dislocated his shoulder in a freak accident walking with his family back in August and has been sidelined ever since.
Callachan, a target for Ross County last season, featured in Rovers’ first six matches of the campaign but has not played for nine weeks and has missed Raith’s last 10 outings.
The highly-rated youngster was named on the bench for Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at home to Hibernian but the Kirkcaldy club are keen to get the green light from the medics before plunging him back into action.
Manager Ray McKinnon explained: “Ross has been stepping up his training in the last couple of weeks after starting with non-contact stuff.
“He was on the bench on Saturday but we should get some test results back on Wednesday that will hopefully set everyone’s minds at ease and give him the all-clear as far as the injury is concerned.”
