A 13-year-old Hearts fan has made a generous £900 donation to the Foundation of Hearts after saving up his pocket money.
Daniel Morrison raised that amount by doing extra chores around the house, and dad Alan – a FoH pledger – agreed to match what his son raised, with the father and son handing over a total of £1,800 to the fans group.
The pair were personally thanked for their generosity by Foundation chairman Brian Cormack before Saturday’s victory over Ross County.
Daniel said: “I saved up my pocket money and did some extra jobs around the house, and my dad put some money towards it as well.
“I was washing my dad’s car and doing some dishes. I was basically doing some extra jobs around the house.
“It’s been my club since I was five so I wanted to stick money in to Hearts.”
Dad Alan was proud of his son’s fundraising and insists it was going to a cause close to his heart.
He said: “I’m a shareholder and Hearts mean everything to me. My son will take the shares over eventually and it’s important to me. Hearts must survive.
“Youngsters like my son Daniel are the future and I think Ann Budge identifies that as well with the time she spent talking to my son at one point. We have to encourage that.
“I am proud of him, it’s a fantastic idea. Whether we keep getting the dishes done in the house, I don’t know.”
