Hibs boss Alan Stubbs happy international break will allow him to get quartet back

BY IAIN COLLIN – Capital City Press

Hibernian head coach Alan Stubbs has welcomed the current international break as he looks forward to the return of a quartet of top players.

Saturday’s comfortable 3-0 win away to Queen of the South saw the Easter Road side rack up their sixth win – and clean sheet – in a run of seven matches undefeated.

The recent draw with St Mirren aside, the capital outfit have built up something of a head of steam as they bid to cling to the coattails of runaway league leaders Rangers.

However, with Fraser Fyvie, James Keatings, Jordon Forster and Islam Feruz all expected to use the down time to return to fitness, Stubbs is happy with a Saturday off this weekend.

He said: “It’s a good thing. Fraser, Keats, Jordon and Izzy will be back with the group and it gives them then eight or nine days of training with the team before we play our game when we come back, which is against Dumbarton.

“It’s good for them, so the international break is definitely going to work in our favour this time.”
