Partick Thistle have signed defender Scot Whiteside on a deal until the end of the season after the teenager left Rangers during the summer.
The Northern Ireland Under-19 internationalist will initially be part of the Jags development team with a view to catching manager Alan Archibald’s eye.
The 18-year-old centre-half joined the Ibrox outfit in 2013 and worked his way up through the youth ranks before leaving the club during the close season having failed to make a single competitive appearance.
Whiteside moves to Firhill just weeks after Thistle defender Jack Hendry made the switch to Wigan.
A Jags statement read: “Partick Thistle Football Club can confirm the signing of 18-year old central defender Scot Whiteside.
“Scot has signed for Thistle on a contract which expires in May, and will no doubt hope to feature prominently for the development squad during that time.
“Everyone at Partick Thistle would like to welcome Scot to Firhill and wish him all the best in his fledgling Thistle career.”
