Ajax’s €2.5 million man Amin Younes has pleaded with boss Frank de Boer to give him a crack at Celtic.
The former Germany under-21 internationalist was a summer capture by the Dutch giants, joining the club from Borussia Monchengladbach on a three-year deal.
The 22-year-old is yet to make his senior debut for Ajax as he battles back from an injury-hit pre-season, but turned in a man of the match display for the reserve side in a 4-1 win over Telstar on Monday evening.
With first-team regular Riechedly Bazoer suspended for tomorrow’s clash with the Hoops, Younes is thought to be in de Boer’s thoughts for the Europa League curtain-raiser.
And the talented winger is champing at the bit to face the Scottish champions.
Younes said: “We showed good things as a team on Monday and I was happy to play a part in the win.
“I now hope to be part of the squad against Celtic.
“It is up to the coach to decide whether I play on Thursday. All I can do is remain 100 per cent fit and ready, and improve with every match.”
