Dunfermline have been rocked by the news that promising full-back Ryan Williamson has suffered a double leg-break.
The 19-year-old, who has been an ever-present during the Pars’ sensational start to the season, was carried from the field following a sickening collision with Forfar defender Michael Dunlop on Tuesday evening.
The player was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee to ascertain the severity of the damage – and X-Rays confirmed the devastating diagnosis.
Williamson, a Scotland under-19 internationalist, has fractured his leg in two places and will not feature for the Fifers again until 2016.
Despite his tender years, Williamson has already made 43 senior appearances for the East End Park club and is highly-regarded by Dunfermline manager Allan Johnston.
