Award-winning Botanic Lights will return this autumn

THE award-winning Botanic Lights is set to return this autumn, with a month of nighttime displays at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.

Last year was the first time the Garden opened to visitors at night for an outdoor light experience.

More than 23,000 visitors flocked to see the unique display combining light, sound and nature.

Those night-time visitors, plus the regular day visitors, made November 2014 the busiest the Botanics has ever had since records began.

Due to the popularity of the event and following a run of sell-out shows, Botanic Light is back with tickets now on-sale

Organisers RBGE and Unique Events are currently keeping details of the new installation under wraps, but promise Botanic Lights 2015 will be an even bigger.

Heather Jackson, Director of Enterprise at RBGE said: “Botanic Lights was quite literally a leap in the dark for us last year but our visitors came along in their thousands to enjoy the Garden at night.

“They helped to make it the busiest November we’ve ever had. How do you follow such a success? By doing it again of course.

She added: “Last year’s slots, particularly the weekends, sold out quite quickly, so we decided to put the tickets on sale a bit earlier this year to give everyone a chance to plan ahead.”

The event will run from 29 October to 22 November, every night except Mondays. Tickets, for allocated time slots, are on sale from www.rbge.org.uk/botaniclights
