Freed Raith Rovers midfielder Martin Scott has joined fellow Scots Malky Thomson and Darryl Duffy at Indian side Salgaocar.
Thomson, the former Aberdeen, Hibernian, Inverness Caley Thistle and Birmingham City coach, was appointed head coach of the I-League outfit last month, whilst former Falkirk and Rangers striker Duffy has spent the last two years with the Goan club.
Scott, who has penned a 12-month contract, claims he had ‘several’ offers to remain in British football, where he played with Livingston, Ross County and Hibernian before spending last season at Stark’s Park.
However, the 29-year-old has instead opted to embark on a fresh challenge.
He said: “I am delighted to join Salgaocar FC, a club I have heard a lot about from the coach, Malky Thomson, and a player I know very well who plays there, Darryl Duffy.
“I had several offers to play in the UK this season but when the discussion to move across to India came up I was very keen. I would like to thank the coach and the management at Salgaocar FC for making this possible.
“I can’t wait to get there and join my team-mates to commence pre-season. I am looking forward to giving my best and challenging for the title.”
