John Guidetti insists he is ready to test himself in the “best league in the world” after swapping Celtic for Celta.
The towering Swede, who netted 15 goals in 35 outings during a loan spell with the Hoops last term, opted for a switch to La Liga despite reported interest from Lazio, Udinese, Trabzonspor and Brentford.
Guidetti penned a five-year contract with Celta Vigo over the weekend and says he is ready to realise a lifelong dream by crossing swords with the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Valencia on a weekly basis.
The 23-year-old said: “This is a massive opportunity for me and a big test. This is the best league in the world and to play at the very highest level has been a dream since I was very young.
“To pull on the light blue jersey and play against the best teams and the best players in the world is a dream come true.
“I know it will be a challenge, but I am a striker and I am here to get goals and assists.
“There was a lot of interest in me, but I came to Vigo and met with the people here – and the way they treated me made me feel like this was the only cub I wanted to come to.
“People might think it was a difficult decision but it was actually very easy.”
