Clyde have axed their entire youth set-up ahead of the upcoming 2015/16 campaign.
The League Two outfit have cited decreased funding from the SFA and say they are unable to provide the “significant resources” required to participate in the ‘Club Academy Scotland’ (CAS) model for youth development.
Following a thorough review of its viability, the Clyde board informed the SFA of their decision to close their academy.
The move will bring an end to the Bully Wee’s under-11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 17 sides, with all of the youngsters now free to look for clubs elsewhere.
The under-20 side, which is not part of CAS, remains in place as part of Clyde’s first team structure.
