Former Ross County captain Richard Brittain has dropped down four divisions to sign a three-year contract with Highland League champions Brora Rangers.
The 31-year-old midfielder has opted for a switch to the part-time ranks after being released by Staggies manager Jim McIntyre at the end of the season.
Brittain will link up with former County team-mates Grant Munro and Stuart Kettlewell at the Cattachs.
Brittain said: “Brora are a big club in the Highland League and it is great to be back playing alongside my team-mate from my County days in Grant Munro.
“Brora are ambitious and the thought of them again being in a race for promotion to League 2 excites me.
“I would have no difficulty with playing in that league.”
Brora chairman John Young, whose side were beaten in the inaugural pyramid play-off final by Montrose last month, said: “We have captured a big name in Richard which other league clubs will take notice of, but our signings are not over. Any team, no matter how successful, must always be refreshed and that is what we are doing.”
