JK ROWLING begged a Harry Potter actor to “put some clothes on” after he stripped down for a magazine photoshoot.
Matthew Lewis appeared as nerdy Neville Longbottom in the hit Potter films, and had to wear a fat suit and prosthetics to fit into the role.
Fans hardly recognised him when a recent picture showed the child star with rippling muscles and a washboard stomach – a far cry from the clumsy, introverted character he played on screen.
Rowling has now entered the discussion about the actor, after seeing newly released pictures of him posing for British gay lifestyle magazine Attitude.
The 25-year-old stripped down to his briefs and reclined on a bar stool for the shoot, exposing his rock hard physique.
The cheeky chap tweeted the pictures to the author, with the caption “Well, this is awkward. Sorry Jo.”
Rowling was quick to join the legions of fans who were shocked by his transformation.
She replied: “Not as bad as watching Dan in Equus, but close. Warn me next time, for God’s sake.”
She added: “I will always support you whatever you want to do, Matthew. Now go put some clothes on.”
Daniel Radcliffe, who played Harry Potter in the films, appeared fully naked in Equus – a play about a relationship between a man and a horse.
A fan decided to ask Rowling whether the actor should be called ‘Neville Pertbottom’ following his revelation.
She replied: “I wouldn’t know. I hastily averted my eyes and read an article on Political Correctness to get over the shock.”
Fans teased the author after she made her feelings known.
Zoe Turner wrote: “Your little Neville, all grown up.”
Hayli Nic said: “Haha, you’re like an overly protective and genuinely shocked mother.”
Laura Larraya added: “Please @jk_rowling, never ask @mattdavelewis to put some clothes on. Never.”
Matthew will appear on the front cover of the Attitude magazine in June – a ‘swimwear and underwear’ special.
He has revealed a love-hate relationship with his personal trainer, who has aided his transformation.
He recently said: “My personal trainer once again proving that it’s possible to absolutely hate your favourite person in the world. For four sets of 15.”
He added: “I love the gym and all that stuff, but I can’t wait for a pint of lager, I tell you that!
“The pizza and beer will definitely be making a comeback over the summer.”
