Volunteer wanted for dream gardening role

A dream volunteer opportunity for anyone interested in gardening has come up in one of the most beautiful spots in Scotland.

ProjectScotland is looking for someone aged between 16 and 30 to become a volunteer gardener in Applecross, a tranquil peninsula on the coast of Wester Ross.

Based at Hartfield House, previously a hunting lodge on the Applecross Estate, the successful candidate will work alongside a landscape gardener and a botanist.

The role includes creating new shrub beds, planting boxes, grass cutting, weeding, grounds maintenance and giving creative input into fruit and veg growing projects.

Louise Orr, from ProjectScotland said: “Many of our volunteers take these opportunities to gain hands-on work experience to then go on to a full-time position, further education or training.”

Any 16 – 30 year old interested in the Volunteer Gardener position can apply online at: www.projectscotland.co.uk
