STORMTROOPERS took time off fighting the Jedi to visit the shops yesterday.
May the fourth is known as international Star Wars Day, in homage to the classic film’s immortal line “May the Force be with you.”
Shoppers at Union Square in Aberdeen and Silverburn shopping centre in Glasgow watched as the elite soldiers of the Galactic Empire hoovered up the bargains.
The faceless enforcers of the New Order also took a trip to the cinema and visited Yo!Sushi.
Lynne Butler, marketing manager for both centres, said: “It’s a big year for Stormtroopers with the release of Star Wars: Episode VII.
“We are glad that we could provide some sanctuary away from the hype and help them celebrate May 4th in style.
“We hope they enjoyed their day out and look forward to welcoming them back soon. May the 4th be with you.”
An onlooker said: “They were just going about their own business and checking out the shops. It was surreal.”
