A new business centre catering for almost 400 people is set to launch just minutes from Edinburgh airport to cater for Scotland’s expanding SME sector and demand for flexible office space.
Citibase is opening its second Edinburgh-based business centre in Gyleview House at Edinburgh West Office Park.
The centre will provide high quality office space and facilities for the growing number of cost-conscious entrepreneurs and small businesses requiring flexible, state-of-the-art work space in a convenient location.
Spanning approximately 24,000 sq. ft. across three stories, Gyleview House will provide work stations for up to 375 people.
The space is designed to appeal to companies who cannot afford the inflexible long term leases expected by many commercial landlords in the city.
A new report by Barclays and the Business Growth Fund (BGF), places SMEs at the very heart of economic prosperity, with small businesses accounting for around half of UK GDP and providing two thirds of all private sector jobs.
Scotland’s flourishing small business sector is one of the best performing, with 400 high growth companies recorded between March 2013 and 2014, a 5.7% increase compared with the previous year and more than anywhere else in the UK.
Citibase CEO, Steve Jude, said: “We are seeing an increasing number of entrepreneurs in desperate need of high quality, affordable office space, yet with more flexible conditions than those traditionally associated with a commercial office building.”
The launch follows the success of Citibase’s St. Colme Street centre, situated in an historic Grade ‘A’ listed building in Edinburgh’s city centre.
