Work to improve the road surface on the eastbound carriageway of the M9 Avonbank, east of Junction 4 will be taking place overnight from 8pm on Friday 27th March till 6am on Monday 30th March.
The road will be subject to closure between junctions 4 – 3 eastbound (i.e. Edinburgh bound) while the work is taking place.
Traffic will be directed into a single lane contraflow on the westbound carriageway after the junction 4 eastbound on slip. Traffic will be under contraflow for approximately 1.8km before being directed back on to the eastbound carriageway.
A temporary reduced speed limit of 40mph will be in place within the contraflow.
Junction 4 eastbound onslip will be closed for the duration of the works with traffic diverted onto the westbound carriageway to junction 5 then directed back onto the eastbound carriageway.
The diversion is 3.5miles long and adds approximately four minutes journey time.
