Stray dogs hoping for luck of the Irish

A STRAY dog trio are hoping to find their ‘furever’ homes this St Patricks Day.

Three dogs are hoping for the luck of the Irish as they wait for a loving family to take them home.

Staff at Dogs Trust Glasgow found Amber, a one-year-old Lurcher, heavily pregnant as a stray. Bets friends Sasha the Staffie and Rio, a three-legged female terrier, were also found wandering the streets.

All have their paws crossed that their Irish connections will bring them a little luck this St Patricks Day.

Dogs Trust Glasgow Rehoming Centre Assistant Manager, Pamela Logan said: “Amber and best buddies, Sasha and Rio are three lovely dogs who would all make lovely additions to a home.

“They are all at the rehoming centre through no fault of their own and have already become firm favourites with the staff here. We all hope they find loving homes as soon as possible, maybe their Irish heritage will work in their favour.”

Loving

Lovely Amber missed out on the fun of her puppy years as she had babies so young. She was a great mother and since her puppies have found loving homes she is now looking to reclaim her youth and have lots of fun with a loving family.

Amber is looking for an active home where she can enjoy long walks and then cuddle up on a comfy bed. She can live with children aged 8+ and other dogs. Amber would prefer not to live with cats and would like her owner to be around for the majority of the time whilst she settles in to her new home.

Five-year-old Sasha and 11-year-old Rio are looking for a home together as they are the best of friends and don’t like being apart. They love sharing their toys and snuggling up to sleep together. Despite Sasha being the younger dog she really looks after Rio and always makes sure she’s ok. Sasha even stops and waits when they share walks as Rio can be a little slow.

The pair can live with children aged ten and over. They would like a secure garden which they can roam in, no cats and an owner who is around for the majority of the time. Both can live with another dog and Rio would prefer a home without too many steps as she struggles with her three legs.

If you want to brighten Amber, Sasha or Rios St Patricks day and are interested rehoming them please give the rehoming centre a call on 0300 303 0292.

Dogs Trust Glasgow is open 12:00 – 16:00 Thursday – Tuesday with a late night opening till 7.30pm on Tuesday. They are closed on Wednesday.
