TRAVELLERS were delayed today after a trailer containing live cattle overturned on one of Scotland’s main roads.
A trailer pulled by a 4×4 overturned on the M9 between Junction 5 and 6 at 10:47 this morning.
Neither the driver nor any of the animals were injured.
Police were called to the scene and a section of the road was closed while the cattle were transferred to another trailer.
Christina Currie tweeted: “Stuck on the M9. Apparently a live cattle lorry has overturned. Yet to see any cattle but will keep you all posted.”
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “When the trailer went down the cattle went with it but luckily none were injured. None of them escaped from the trailer and the only time they were out was when they were being transferred.
“The accident was cleared by 12:19pm when all the cattle had been moved into a different trailer.”
