CHEEKY Scots police have taunted a drugs gang on Twitter after finding a cannabis farm worth tens of thousands of pounds.
Police in Edinburgh went on the social media site to boast: “Any1 lost 33k of cannabis in the Edinburgh area?
“Don’t panic, we found it. Please come to the station to collect.”
A spokesman for Police Scotland said enquiries are ongoing and no further information is available at this time.
The rare moment of public levity from the Edinburgh Police HQ tickled amused followers on Twitter.
Mark Graham replied: “ Nice that our police can take a relatively good humoured approach to the topic. A change to Scots law is needed imo.”
Martin Frost wrote: “Nice try there police men :D”
While someone calling themselves William Wallace Tweeted: “Do I call 999 to claim it. Its not really an emergency will I just call 101. Will you deliver??”

In May this year Edinburgh Police found a cannabis farm worth £100,000 in the Gorgie area as part of ‘Operation Wolf’.
It was uncovered by officers who noticed the distinctive aroma while carrying out ‘vertical policing’ – the official term for when police go up stairs or in lifts.
