How no brown cow: rogue ruminant ruins naked calendar shot

THIS is the hilarious moment a naked calendar photo shoot descended into chaos – as a cow tried to escape a farmer wearing nothing but wellies.
Highmark Chancer, an Ayrshire cow, was apparently nervous at being surrounded by naked farmers and made a bid for freedom.
David Watson, 21, was snapped chasing Highmark as she ran across a field. He gave up a few minutes later out of breath.
The dairy farmer and his pals in the Stranraer and Rhins Young Farmers’ Club decided to strip off for a 2015 calendar to raise money for charity.

David said: “She wasn’t really up for walking about so we got her stood up.

“But she took off – I was holding onto the rope.
“I let go when I was out of breath and thought, ‘bugger this’.

“There was no way I was going to try and bring her back.”

The spectacle was witnessed by at least half a dozen of David’s fellow farmers, all of them doubled up with laughter.
Highmark was recovered later none the worse for wear and David suffered no more than injured pride – although he insisted it was worth it.
“I was up for it. Anything to make a pound for charity,” he said.

Fellow young farmer Ellie MacMaster was the photographer had her camera ready when the cow made a dash for it.

The 23-year-old said: “We walked out from the shed into the field and the cow wasn’t happy about us at all.
She was wondering what all these people were doing.
“The boys were quite wary about getting close because they were worried she would take off.”
She said David was holding onto the rope to stop the cow running off, not even letting go to undress.
“He was trying to strip off one handed as well,” Ellie laughed.

“Everyone was in stitches. It was hilarious. The cow just took off.

“The image of that boy chasing after a cow is etched on my mind.”
Jill McCaig, the 20-year-old Secretary of the Stranraer and Rhins Young Farmers, was also watching the chaos unfold.
She said: “David was running down holding the rope but he decided to give up. It wasn’t worth running down a field naked for.”
To complete David’s humiliation, the picture of the cow did not make the final selection for the calendar.

The Stranraer and Rhins Young Farmers Club calendar is raising funds for three local charities – a cancer drop in centre, a renal unit and Breathe Easy for people affected by lung conditions.

The photos that made the calendar were unveiled at a launch night last month and the boys took the chance to take their clothes off again in aid of a good cause performing a full monty.
