A police drugs raid at a property in Angle Park Terrace, Edinburgh recovered more than £8,000 worth of cannabis and over £1,300 in cash.
The raid was part of a police campaign called Operation Wolf which police say is a community-policing initiative aimed at tackling the specific crimes and issues affecting the public across the Capital.
Superintendent Matt Richards said: “Op Wolf continues to target all serious crimes, but particularly those that matter to local communities. Yesterday’s activity concentrated on organised criminality, and specifically those dealing drugs.
“Seizing such a sizeable quantity of drugs and cash makes a big dent in the income and lifestyle of those who would potentially re-invest the money in more illicit materials and illegal activity.
“We have listened to local concerns about drug dealing and are concentrating our Op Wolf efforts on the emergence of public safety issues linked to both illegal substances and the increasing misuse of new psychoactive substances.
“The success of Operation Wolf is based on the intelligence we receive from our communities and I would urge anyone with information relating to ongoing criminal activity in their area is asked to contact us on 101 or make an anonymous report via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
