MTV and the Glasgow School of Art have teamed up to unveil six giant logos that will pop up across the city as part of the build up to the MTV European Music Awards.

Fans are being encouraged to upload a selfie to Instagram with the hashtag ‘#iwantEMAtix’ for a chance to win a pair of VIP tickets to the awards show at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow on Sunday 9 November.

Six of the 8ft x 6ft logos have been placed throughout the city in Buchanan Galleries, St Enoch Centre, Princes Square, The Garage Nightclub, Merchant Square and The Lighthouse.

Councillor Gordon Matheson, Leader of Glasgow City Council, said: “The MTV EMA will showcase Glasgow to a global audience of more than half a billion households – this is one of the world’s greatest music events and it’s the hottest ticket in town.

“Glasgow School of Art’s reputation as a centre for creative excellence is world renowned and the students’ work unveiled today strongly reinforces those credentials. The statues will really help to build excitement ahead of the show and I’m sure hundreds of music fans will be eagerly hunting for them across the city in the coming days.”
