A DAD who made medical history by giving stem cells to his cancer patient daughter has joined in the social media craze for men slapping on make up.

Jason Furniss, 40, from Sauchie, Clackmannanshire, posted a picture of himself online donning a full face of make up plus a bow in his hair to help raise awareness for cancer charities.

His daughter, Mackenzie,10, recently returned from Stuttgart, Germany where she is has been receiving the final anti-body treatment of a life-saving experimental haploidentical stem cell transplant.

Last year Mr Furniss became the first father in Scotland to donate stem cells to their child.

Now the father-of-three has posted two pictures o himself posing alongside Mackenzie, wearing bright pink lipgloss and eyeshadow.

He was also donning a long haired wig and used a pink bow to complete his look.

Writing alongside the photo Mr Furniss said: “Make up nomination. Please retweet to support cancer sufferers. Thanks.”

Mackenzie, who is due to return to Germany shortly for another round of treatment, joined in the fun by mimicking her dad’s sultry pout.
