Lorraine Kelly is taking legal action after her picture was used in an online diet pill ad

LORRAINE Kelly has confirmed she is taking legal action against scammers who used her picture in an online diet pill ad.

The Scots TV presenter told fans earlier this week she was “extremely angry” after the advert falsely claimed she had used herbal tablets to lose weight.

The 54-year-old yesterday (thu) confirmed to her followers on Twitter that she had instructed lawyers to take action against the manufacturer of the Raspberry Ketone pills.

She said: “It’s totally bogus and I’m taking legal action.”

Kelly was caught up in a similar situation last year when it was claimed she used the diet pills.

Kate Middleton, Victoria Beckham and Adele were also falsely claimed to have used their product to lose weight.

Raspberry Ketone pills are herbal tablets used to quicken the metabolism.

It is unclear from the tweet which site used Kelly in their advertisement.

The star was alerted to the recent scam on Tuesday after a fan alerted her on Twitter saying: “Do you know these people are using your pictures to advertise their raspberry ketone tablets?”

She also posted a snapshot of the add.

The companies involved all issued their adverts through Facebook.

At the time, the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) said that the adverts were misleading and upheld complaints which had been made.

The adverts were subsequently banned from appearing on the web.
