Glasgow OAP becomes YouTube hit after street rave

A VIDEO of a tracksuit-clad OAP dancing to bagpipe music on a busy Glasgow street has become an internet hit.

The hilarious 45 second clip shows the elderly man pulling his best rave dance moves while a busker belts out a classic bagpipe melody beside him.

At one point a second dancer, in a bomber jacket and beanie hat, joins in the dance with his own techno moves while hoards of shoppers pass them by.

The OAP managed to perform an unusual techno style dance to the bagpipes.

The YouTube clip, entitled ‘Only in Glasgow’ appears to show the musical trio on the city’s Buchanan Street.

It has so far notched up nearly 9,000 likes on Facebook and has been shared more than 3,000 times on the social networking site.

The clip was posted on Tuesday by Lynne Docherty from Ayr. She seemed surprised her video has become an internet hit, writing: “My little video has went viral !! :D.”

Amongst the dozens to comment on the video was Katie Sim, who wrote: “The guy in the trackies is always on Buchannan street. He puts his headphones on his cup down and raves his face off for hours.”

Scott Maguire, was also amused, writing: “Took that one in the white a few minutes to get his groove but when he started there was no stopping him! lol.”

Steev Sarah said: “Lol I don’t know what’s more annoying, the old raver or the bagpipes!”

Amanda Rutherford added: “This actually made my day.”

Last year a dancing Elgin City fan became an internet hit after television cameras picked up her bizarre moves at Ibrox stadium.

The mystery woman – known only as Jenny – was spotted by a Sky Sports crew showing off in the away end before the Highland side’s 3-0 defeat against Rangers on Sunday.

The 44-second clip became an overnight sensation on YouTube, gathering almost 100,000 views in less than 24 hours.
