SPEAKING after pressing his Stage 2 amendment seeking to exclude common good land from the Long Leases (Scotland) Bill, Scottish Liberal Democrat spokesperson on Housing, Jim Hume MSP commented:
“I believe it’s important that we show principle and protect common good land for the interests of the Scottish people.
“Whilst the number of common good leases affected by the bill is relatively small, more could come out of the woodwork in future. It’s disappointing that the SNP voted against exempting common good land from this bill.”
