Giants in the forests project highlight changing seasons

GIANT heads made of live plants have been hung in Scots Forests as part of a new art project.

The twig and foliage structures have been suspended in Dumfries and Galloway, Kilmartin, Mull, Peebles and the Bowhill Estate in Selkirk.

They have been designed to hang; growing and changing with the seasons.

Audiences are encouraged to visit the Giants and ask themselves what the heads are thinking; take a photo, upload it on the Giants in the Forest website or facebook, and tag it with their thoughts.

Vision Mechanics, the creative minds behind Giants in the Forest, produce innovative, inspiring and interactive events.

Artistic Director, Symon Macintyre says “The project aims to connect people and their communities and invites them to reflect on their relationship with the environment, the seasons, life cycles.”
