THE Scottish Wildlife Trust has said that Donald Trump is pouring oil on the fire by campaigning against wind energy while causing irreversible damage to the environment with his golf course north of Aberdeen.
The Trump Organisation is today giving evidence to the Economy, Energy and Tourism Committee, in which the Trump organisation sets out the case against wind farms in Scotland because of the damage that would be caused to Scotland’s countryside and coastline.

Reacting to Trump’s evidence, Jonny Hughes of the Scottish Wildlife Trust said: “It is unimaginable that Donald Trump can’t see the irony of his submission to the economy committee in which he says he can’t watch Scotland’s countryside and coastline being destroyed. It’s hard to know whether to laugh or cry.
“The Scottish Wildlife Trust fought hard against the golf course proposals north of Aberdeen because of the irreversible damage it would cause to a wild and nature-rich stretch of coastline.
“Trump is now pouring oil on the fire by campaigning against wind energy, an important tool in helping the world reduce the carbon pollution causing climate change, one of the key threats to wildlife.
“This is a two pronged attack on Scotland’s natural environment by a man with a proven track record of acting only in self interest.
“This is also an attack on the tens of thousands of green jobs that could be created in the renewables sector in the coming years, making a mockery of Trump’s professed concern for our economy.”
