MORE than 2,500 Easter eggs are to be given away at a revived city festival.
The Easter festival in Edinburgh will take place in Princes Street gardens on Sunday.
In addition to the Easter Bunnies giving out the complimentary eggs, two American marching bands will be participating.
Bob Bone, Executive Director of organisers Destination Events said: “We wanted to see whether there was an appetite to revive an Easter event in Edinburgh – and it appears that there is.
“It should prove to be a really relaxing family day in the centre of the city.”
Two American High Schools are sending their marching bands and orchestras to participate in the event – and organisers have enlisted some local talent too.
Plus there’s a splash of colour with free face painting – and balloon modelling too.
The Andover High School from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan is joined by Palm Springs High School all the way from California.
The Easter Sunday starts at 2pm with a cavalcade of performers around Princes St Gardens before performances at The Ross Bandstand begin.
A free public orchestral performance takes place at St. Cuthbert’s Church on Saturday April 7 starting at 7.30pm.
