AROUND 30 wooden fence posts have been stolen from woodland in Fife.
Fife Constabulary is appealing for witnesses after the timber was taken from an area next to the main Oakley to Alloa Road (A907), near Blairhall.
The posts, which were bordering a small wooded area near to the new Comrie Castle housing development, were pulled from the ground and the wire linking them cut, some time between 5.30pm on Monday, April 2 and 10.15am on Tuesday, April 3.
PC Colin Reddie, the officer who is leading the enquiry, said: “This is an unusual theft and given the number and weight of the posts involved, those responsible will very likely have had a vehicle nearby.
“Given that many of the posts were right on the road’s verge, passing motorists may well have seen people removing the posts or the vehicle they were using and I would appeal for anyone with any information to contact the police as soon as possible.”
