Officers carried out enquiries as part of Operation Arable – an ongoing campaign to tackle street crime in the capital – following two incidents in West Adam Street and Nicolson Square yesterday (Wednesday).
A small sum of cash was taken from a 27-year-old man during the alleged robbery at West Adam Street, while a 20-year-old woman had her phone stolen in Nicolson Square.
The woman is scheduled to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today (Thursday).
Detective Chief Inspector Gary Cunningham said: “Street crime can have a significant impact on our communities’ perception of crime and under Operation Arable we are actively seeking out those found to be responsible and bringing them to justice.
“Officers regularly carry out high-visibility patrols across Edinburgh to offer reassurance to the public and offer crime prevention advice to anyone who requires it.
