FIND out what’s so special about Collies at Dogs Trust West Calder on Saturday 31st March.
Collie fans are in for a real treat this weekend as Julie Morrison the rehoming centre’s Training & Behavioural Adviser is to give a talk about the history of the breed and offer top tips on how to keep clever Collies mentally stimulated.
The talk will be at 2pm in the training barn at West Calder Rehoming Centre. It is free to attend, although donations will be welcome. The talk will also involve an opportunity to meet plenty of gorgeous Collies looking for homes when they take to the dog walk.
Susan Tonner, Dogs Trust West Calder Centre Manager, said: “We hope to give the public a chance to learn more about this terrific breed and enjoy our parade of Collies looking for homes. The gorgeous dogs greeting guests will include five year old Border Collie Shelly.”
Susan added: “Shelly is a sweet girl who loves meeting new people, especially people who will make a fuss of her.
“A typical collie, she is very bright and full of energy and enjoys learning new tricks. Shelly is a real fun fanatic who loves nothing better than playing with her toys or going for a trip in the car especially if it means going for a swim. Shelly would suit an adult only home with owners who are familiar with her energetic breed and do not have any other pets. She can be quite shy when she first meets people but as soon as she has gained your trust she will be your best friend for life.”
