Bombs discovered at Nairn beauty spot

COASTGUARD and Police have put a 100m cordon around an area of East Beach, Nairn following the discovery of old ordnance at around 9.45am today.

The ordnance was discovered by a member of the public in shifting sands at East Beach in the Kingsteps/Culbin area of Nairn.

Bomb disposal experts are travelling from Edinburgh

A cordon remains in place and members of the public are being asked to avoid the area at this time. Army bomb disposal experts from Edinburgh have been alerted and are en route.

The area is popular with walkers and dog walkers and Police are advising people not to visit that particular spot until it is made safe.
