Two in court over charity clothing theft

The men were arrested after a member of the public called police

TWO men are to appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court today (Mon) in connection with the theft of clothing from a charity bin in the town yesterday.

The men, aged 26 and 18, were arrested following information from a member of the public.

Police attended and arrested the two men, with one also being charged in connection with drink driving.

Inspector Phil Davison said: “We have been investigating reports of thefts of clothing from charity bins and have appealed for help from the public. In this case a member of the public saw suspicious activity at a charity bin and called us.

“We responded promptly and arrested the two men. I am grateful for the information we received and thank the public for their continued vigilance, which was of great assistance in helping us to deal with this criminal activity.”
