Armed robbery at Edinburgh video store

The man escaped with a three figure sum of money.

LAST night a lone female employee was subjected to an armed robbery at an Edinburgh video store.

The incident happened around 9pm yesterday at the Blockbusters on Great Junction Street.

A woman was working within the shop alone when a man entered and presented a broken bottle before demanding money.

The man then fled the store with a three-figure sum of cash and the employee contacted police.

The suspect is described as white, in his 30s, around 6ft tall with a large build. He was wearing a black beanie-hat, black baggy sports jacket, blue jeans and he spoke with a local accent.

A police spokesman said: “This was a very frightening experience for the store assistant and we are keen to hear from anyone who can help us identify this man.
