POLICE have appealed for two drivers who may have witnessed a fatal crash involving a sports car to come forward.
John Stewart Carrigan was hit by a Toyota MR2 on Corstorphine High Street at around 6.20pm on Tuesday, February 7.
The 54-year-old was taken to the Western General Hospital where he succumbed to head injuries.
Police are keen to trace the drivers of two cars known to be in the area at the time of the collision and would urge these motorists to come forward.
The first vehicle is a silver or grey Rover 75 car, which was travelling east on Corstorphine High Street and had stopped behind queuing traffic at St Mary’s Park before possibly turning into the TESCO store.
The second vehicle is a red Mini with a white roof and white mirrors, which was also travelling east along the High Street. The car is believed to have been stationary in traffic, close to the area where the collision happened.
A police spokesman said: “Officers are still investigating the full circumstances of this incident and the assistance of those who were on the road at the time is vital.
“The drivers of these cars may have valuable information that can assist with our enquiries and they are urged to contact police immediately.”
