Madonna to hold first Scottish concert

POP star Madonna it to hold her first Scottish concert at Murryfield, it has been confirmed.

The singer will make her appearance on Saturday, July 21, with tickets going on sale at 10am on Friday.

Despite marrying her former husband Guy Ritchie in a Highland ceremony in 2000 it will be the first time the 53-year-old has performed in Scotland.

The Murrayfield concert is part of The Madonna 2012 World Tour, which begins on May 29 in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Along with Edinburgh the tour will stop in 26 European cities including London, Paris, Milan and Berlin.

The tickets – priced £125,£80,£75,£70,£60 and £45 – will be available from www.livenation.co.uk.

Tour promoter Arthur Fogel said: “Madonna’s track record as a world class entertainer and touring artist speaks for itself. Her artistry, talent and creative productions get bigger and better with each tour and Madonna 2012 will be no exception. We are thrilled to have her back on the road and know her fans feel the same.”
