ROMANTICS keen to demonstrate the depth of their affections will be able to enlist the help of divers at Deep Sea World, Scotland’s national aquarium in February.
The North Queensferry aquarium is celebrating Valentine’s Day with a series of special underwater ‘love dives’.
Visitors will be able to send romantic messages to their loved ones via special waterproof boards which divers will hold up in the aquarium’s giant Underwater Safari display.
Messages will include a £10 voluntary contribution, with all money raised being donated to the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS).
Park Director at Deep Sea World Gerry O’Donnell said: “Over the years the aquarium has witnessed literally dozens of proposals, the most recent took place in the underwater tunnel last month, and we have even staged underwater weddings!
“We thought making use of our divers as sub-aquatic cupids would be a novel way for people to express their true feelings and also the perfect way to raise money for an incredibly good cause.
“The fact that the messages will be witnessed not only by other members of the public but also by three-metre-long sharks, stingrays and shoals of fish makes it even more memorable.”
People will be able to send their messages via the Deep Sea World website where they will be allocated a time slot when their signs will be displayed in the underwater walkthrough tunnel.
