Parents pay tribute to city murder victim

Carolyn Ann Ellis died from her injuries following a disturbance in Edinburgh

THE parents of a woman who was murdered following a disturbance in Edinburgh have paid tribute to their daughter.

Carolyn Ann Ellis, 32, from West Tollcross is believed to have been stabbed during the incident on Tuesday.

In a statement released through Lothian and Borders Police, they said: “Carolyn Ann was a wonderful and caring person who always made time for her family and many friends.

“She lit up the world of everyone she met and was very popular. No one ever had a bad word to say about her.

“As a family, we are devastated to have lost such a special daughter and sister and we would now ask for privacy as we try to come to terms with our grief.”

A 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with her murder and is scheduled to appear in court today.
