A MAN has been killed after being hit by a bin lorry in Kinross.
The 80-year-old was knocked down on a pedestrian crossing on the town’s High Street at around 7am today.
Emergency services were called but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Kinross High Street has been closed to allow crash investigators to carry out an examination at the scene, with diversions in place via Station Road and Swansacre.
However, there is still access to local shops and businesses.
A full report on the incident will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
Police said the man’s identity will not be released until next of kin have been informed.
