DEMAND for boob jobs rises in the lead-up to Christmas, according to top cosmetic surgeons.
Surgeons at one Glasgow cosmetic surgery say they perform between 12 and 20 breast augmentation procedures in a typical month.
But this figure has soared during November and December with 35 procedures carried out last month, and by the end of this month they will have carried out a further 29.
Stephen Morley is Medical Director for Confidence Cosmetic Surgery, which operate out of Nuffield Health inGlasgow’sWest End.
Commenting on the flurry of bookings, he said: “The lead up to the festive season has been a popular time to book in for a boob job – in fact this Christmas, demand has been even higher than in the previous three years.
“The reasons for opting for breast augmentation are wide and varied but I suspect the timing can be partly attributed to women who want to look their best over the Christmas party season as well as those who want to start the new year with a new look.”
The team of surgeons say it’s not the first time boob jobs have had a surge in popularity this year – the summer months of July and August also saw numbers peak.
Mr Morley added: “Despite the recession we are carrying out more breast augmentation procedures than ever. InGlasgowwe have carried out more than £1million of boob jobs this year alone.”
