Vintage tractor stolen

Police say the stolen tractor is very distinctive

A VINTAGE tractor has been stolen from a riding school in West Lothian.

The blue, Q-registered Ford vehicle was taken along with another tractor and a trailer between 11pm on Sunday night and 6am the next day.

The thieves appear to have driven the tractors from the west side of Houston Mains Farm Riding School in Uphall, through a number of wooden and wire fences, causing significant damage.

One of the tractors was recovered in a ditch about a mile from the farm, but the other tractor and the trailer remain missing.

The tractor is worth £1800.

A police spokesperson said: “This vintage tractor is fairly distinctive so we would appeal for anyone who may have seen it on the roads since Sunday to contact us.

“In addition, we would be keen to hear from anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area last weekend.”
