DOCTOR Who actress Karen Gillan has revealed she wants to settle down in a Highland hideaway.
The Inverness-born star, who plays sidekick Amy Pond in the hit BBC show, has set her heart in retiring to Drumnadrochit on the banks of Loch Ness.
She said: “I want to live in splendid isolation when I’m 40 and then come back to acting when I want.
“I will live in Drumnadrochit, which is the weirdest name evr but is the most beautiful place.”
Karen’s character, who was last seen getting marrie, will return to our screens in a festive edition of the time-travel fantasy programme.
She said: “Amy is in the Christmas Special with her husband, Rory. It’s a cameo appearance but we’re in there.
“It was really fun. We just came on set and ran around like we always do.”
A new series of Doctor Who is set to air in autumn 2012.
