Concern for missing hospital patient

Andrew Cousins was last seen at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary yesterday evening

POLICE are concerned for the wellbeing of a man who went missing from a city hospital.

Andrew Cousins, 31, from Musselburgh was last seen around 6.30pm yesterday at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

When a family member came to visit him, she was told he had left the hospital and has failed to make contact with anyone since.

He is described as white, 6ft tall with a medium build, dark brown spiky hair and has tribal tattoos all over his left arm and both legs as well as a large tattoo on his chest.

Andrew was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, grey hooded top, light-blue Umbro jogging bottoms and blue plimsolls.

A police spokesman said: “Since leaving the ERI last night, Andrew has not contacted relatives or friends to let them know where he is or how he is doing and concern is now growing for his well-being.

“Andrew knowsEast Lothianand Edinburgh very well and may have decided to visit friends in either location.

“Anyone who has seen him since last night is asked to contact police immediately.

“Similarly, Andrew is asked to get in touch with family, friends or police as soon as possible to let us know he’s safe and well.”
